We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Canterbury and Active Life Chief Executive Anthony Cawley to the centre as we celebrated the official opening of the new facilities.
They were both here to cut the ribbon marking the end of a project that has seen £600,000 of improvements that we’ve been introducing over recent months, including:
- A new fitness and group exercise studio
- A larger and fully refurbished gym
The event also marked the launch of a new name for Whitstable Swimming Pool, with this important community facility now rebranded Whitstable Pools & Fitness.
If you’ve not been along yet, the centre is fully open with customers able to enjoy cutting edge gym equipment alongside the group exercise studios that opened in September.
Thank you to all our customers for your patience while these improvements were delivered, and we hope you agree that the final result is worth it.
Some other exciting news. Active Life’s Charity of the Year for 2024 will be Porchlight, which supports homeless and vulnerable people across Kent. We’ll bring you more on this over the coming weeks.
We can also confirm that the next Community Open Day is scheduled for Saturday 24 February and the centre will again be supporting the Oysterman Triathlon on Sunday 14 July. We look forward to welcoming competitors and supporters along in the New Year.
